The choice is between a big power gain, and a deep, loud throaty noise, or medium power gain and a more modest sound. With a 76mm (3") bore which runs from the catalytic converter back, the Nur Spec R series are finely engineered to give good power gains on turbocharged cars.
Particular attention is paid to minimise the length of the path from the turbo to the exit pipe, which greatly helps to reduce back pressure. On the Evo this comes in the form of a very straight system rather than having several bends to follow the original exhaust path.
