ARP uses a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to "aircraft" quality. Each stud is heat-treated to 200,000 psi. This procedure ensures complete heat penetration and the results are far superior than some other brands.

Following heat-treat, each stud is centerless ground to make it as perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally good quality product.

These studs are advised on all "forged" engine re-builds. They ensure an even and consistent clamp force on the crankshaft when generating high hp. We use these exact studs on builds making over 1000Hp!
